About the office
The Professional Experience Office is a national team that coordinates professional experience placements across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It manages placements in early childhood, primary and secondary educational settings in Australia and overseas, working closely with schools, mentor teachers and tertiary supervisors. The office operates in accordance with Professional Experience policies, supports assessment and moderation processes, gathers accreditation data, and strengthens the University’s metro, regional, rural and international partnerships.
About the role
This Professional Experience Finance Support Officer provides administrative and financial support for Professional Experience placements, including payments to mentor teachers, schools and systems, Commonwealth Practicum Payments data sharing, and international PEX payments. As part of the National Professional Experience team, the position works across the Fremantle and Sydney campuses. Reporting to the Professional Experience Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial and administrative support for Professional Experience placements, including payments, purchase orders and invoicing.
- Respond to finance-related enquiries and deliver quality customer service.
- Maintain accurate records, data entry, spreadsheets and databases.
- Assist with reports and written communications.
- Apply relevant policies and procedures, resolve routine issues and escalate complex matters.
- Complete tasks accurately, on time, and in line with University requirements.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Hold a Diploma-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in administrative roles within a dynamic, fast-paced environment (higher education experience advantageous).
- Strong understanding of administrative procedures and ability to apply them.
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of organisation and attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated computer skills, including email, internet and the MS Office suite, with the ability to learn and implement new systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
